UL2-Round 2-Match: DviL vs. Dac

Today was the all german duel of Div3, Dvil (this week only with german drivers, although normally international) vs dac. Dvil had to play monday due to me and tcq having exams later in the week. Again a big THX to dac for being very cooperative here!
So we could not play with Kimi who couldn't on monday, and Loko is still without internet in Spain.
So we were not at our best, but still we had 3 trained drivers for each map (except maybe Psycho, who was only told yesterday that he had to drive Bay, sorry about that)
The maps to play were Rally, Bay and Stadium.
As the schedules came out we already knew this was going to be an interesting match, as Stadium was a certain win for dac, as was Rally for us. The deciscion was to be made in Bay and we did not dare to name a big favourite there. So it promised to get quite exciting.

First map to play was rally

We planned to win this by me taking the first place most of the time, and Exo closely behind me, tcq securing the last points when neccecary. We hoped dac| would not ba able do drive at the pace Exo and me could.
To make it short, it came exactly as planned. Exo and me shared the first places, mostly 1 or 2 seconds before the dac|s. Tcq struggeled at the begin a bit with his stability, but found it in the second half of the race, securing some 1.2.3strikes for us in the last rounds. dac drove in general at least one second to slow, but once as 2 of us crashed, they managed to take the round with 2,3,4.
dac| drove very constant, only sun crashed a bit too much, but they were just not fast enough.

Second map was Bay

This was the deciding map, we thought to have a chance here, although we knew it was going to be very hard against dac. Still the plan was to get tcq at the very front, and let Psycho and me catch the neccecary points to win. It did not work out exactly that way. Tcq drove very good, winning every run he did not crash (which were quite some though ) But Psycho and me had some difficulties behind him, both with our own stability, we just crashed a bit too often, and most of all with the Dacs, who drove mostly constant and very fast. But it developed a good fight where dac| had the better start, and not giving the lead away to the end, but the rounds were often very tight, and some times four drivers who had not crashed waited in the finish for the crashed to bring the decision. Unfortunately most of the time dac had the lucky end to them, making the score quite a bit more clearly as the races really were. Tcq did drive great times, but especcially Savezocker was not much slower, and very constant in his times. Very good work here dac!

The last map was Stadium

Here we knew we had nothing to win with the two best Stadiumdrivers of us missing, and dac| being known to be good there, especcially since Maurice joined them. So the plan was just to give our best and have some fun. And we had!
I managed to drive my best run right in the first round, and hopefully shocked dac| a bit who came in a good second after me. But as neither tcq nor Olli drove at the level dac| could drive at, and me was not constant at this level, dac had in the end not that big a problem to drive the win home, but there were some runs that did really end very narrowly, often only 1 point and small fractions of a second decided. The win of dac| was never in question, but again it did not need to be that clear-cut. They won deservedly, but the heights does not represent the course of the match. Anyway. I managed to drive very constant, and also some good times, and was able to stirr things up a bit at the front so dac| did not have much chance to relax. But on their side Maurice did drive an absolutely awesome match, very good times, and very constant at them, only 2 rounds he did crash. Behind him Schnitzer did drive very constant, and at good speed, X-ray was even a bit faster, but did crash more often. Tcq did drive mostly decent times, but he too crashed a bit often, Olli had the problem of only having two days of preparation, and so he was not at the best level, but as we had not won either way, who cares
In the end we did have fun on Stadium even though we again were a bit unlucky with the final score.

All in all it was a very nice and fun match, many close rounds, and good performances on both sides. Very GG dac| !!
